About Kristy
I’m a wine writer, teacher, communicator, accidental influencer, sometimes sommelier, and regular cellar rat that loves to explore wine regions, the stories and makers behind the wines, and get my hands dirty in the process. Although wine and wine travel has always been a part of my adult life, it became a career focus in 2016 after an 8-month sabbatical in Europe. The way wine brought new people, experiences, and adventures into my life - well, it changed the way I see and relate to the world.
I have spent hours teaching/talking about wine, evenings drinking it, months traveling for it, years in vineyards and cellars helping to make it, and nearly a decade writing about it. But I’m still a consumer first. And this space is where I get to share my own opinions, reviews, stories, travel suggestions, missteps, embarrassments, lessons learned, adventures and experiences as they relate to wine and travel, and if you’re interested, you can shop for some of my favorite things too. These are the things that excite me most, and the things I hope will both inspire and excite you too.
