Happy Sunday from New York City. Today is my birthday and I’m celebrating in the Big Apple. So, while I’m wining and dining big city style, I have another comprehensive guide to share with you all, and this time, I’m going hyper-local.
Almost as soon as I arrived in the Willamette Valley, I started getting the questions: What’s your favorite winery? What’s your favorite Pinot? What wineries should we visit. Well, having never set foot in Oregon prior to our move and with around 700 wineries and vineyards, those are hard questions to answer. But I’ve been busy in the past 18+ months, and while I haven’t explored the entirety of the Valley, in fact I haven’t even come close, I have visited dozens of wineries, and I’ve most certainly tasted hundreds of wines.
In other words, I finally have some answers for those questions. And yes, I play favorites (even my kids know this - I have a favorite son and a favorite daughter). Now, this list isn’t a compilation of “the renowned best,” most prestigious, big names, or the most awarded, rather, this guide highlights my personal favorites. The wines, wineries, and eateries that I frequent, that I love, and that in one way or another have completely won me over - this year.
